All The Delicate Things

Inspired by the floral still lifes of the Dutch Masters, All of the Delicate Things continues my exploration of flowers, insects and the human figure as intertwined symbols of beauty and impermanence. A recent visit to the Netherlands, where I experienced the remarkable paintings of Rachel Ruysch and Jan van Huysum firsthand, renewed my appreciation for their exquisite craftsmanship and layered symbolism.

Across these works, blooms and figures are woven together in moments of quiet contemplation, inviting us to notice the fragile, beautiful things that often go unseen - those fleeting moments of tenderness, resilience and connection that make us profoundly human.

Bio:
Narelle Zeller (b. 1978), based in Canberra, Australia, is an accomplished representational artist
renowned for her meticulous depictions of figures and still life subjects. With her practice dedicated
to realism, Narelle works exclusively with oil paint and focuses on portraiture, the human form, and
the beauty of the natural world.
At the core of Narelle’s artistic philosophy lies a commitment to capturing the essence of her
subjects in a sincere and unfiltered manner. Her multi-layered artistic process is deliberate and
unhurried, enabling her to immerse herself fully in every aspect of her subjects. Through her work,
she extends an invitation to viewers to share in this intimate contemplation, encouraging them to
closely examine every nuance and appreciate the subject as she does with every stroke of her
brush.

Narelle has achieved recognition as both an award-winning artist and a finalist in numerous
